Journal of Visual Languages and Sentient Systems: Special Issue on GeoVisualization
Scope of the Issue
The open-access Journal of Visual Languages and Sentient Systems (http://ksiresearchorg.ipage.com/vlss/) is intended to be a forum for researchers, practitioners and developers to exchange ideas and research results, for the advancement of visual languages and sentient multimedia systems.
We intend to organize a special issue devoted to new issues in geovisualization, namely new methods to visualize geographic data far beyond conventional 2D cartography. We are currently looking for timely research papers for entry, querying and display not only for data, but also for geographic knowledge and rules.
Topics for the special issue include, but are not limited to:

Submission deadline: May 1, 2017
Rejection/Revision notification: July 1, 2017
Revised manuscript due: September 1, 2017
Acceptance/Second Revision notification: November 1, 2017
Final Manuscript: February 1, 2017
OnLine Publication: July 2017
Hard Copy Publication: October 2017
Submission
Each submission should be at most 8 pages in total including bibliography and well-marked appendices

Only pdf files will be accepted. Submissions not meeting these guidelines risk rejection without consideration of their merits.
All submitted papers will be carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of expression by at least two reviewers. The organizers will examine the reviews and make final paper selections.
