DMS 2016 Call For Papers The Twenty Second International Conference on Distributed Multimedia Systems ksiresearchorg.ipage.com/seke/dms16.html Grand Hotel Salerno, Salerno, Italy November 25 to 26, 2016 Main Theme of DMS2016: Sentient Multimedia Systems The main theme of the 22nd International Conference on Distributed Multimedia Systems (DMS'2016) is Sentient Multimedia Systems, which are distributed systems capable of actively interacting with the environment by gathering, processing, interpreting, storing and retrieving multimedia information originated from sensors, robots, actuators, websites and other information sources. Second Theme of DMS2016: Multimedia Computing and Cultural Heritage The second theme of DMS2016 is Multimedia Computing and Cultural Heritage. We welcome papers on all aspects of this theme, including both technologically oriented and culturally oriented approaches. The conference organizers seek contributions of high quality papers, panels or tutorials, addressing any novel aspect of sentient multimedia systems that significantly benefits from the incorporation/integration of multimedia data (e.g., visual, audio, pen, voice, image, etc.), for presentation at the conference and publication in the proceedings and JVLC journal. Both research and case study papers or demonstrations describing results in research area as well as industrial development cases and experiences are solicited. The use of prototypes and demonstration video for presentations is encouraged. DMS2016 Selected Papers will be published as special issues of JVLC and VLSS The Journal of Visual Languages and Computing (JVLC), and the Journal of Visual Languages and Sentient Systems (VLSS), will each publish selected papers of DMS/VLC/DET2016 as special issues. The conference will first publish a proceedings available in print and online to authors and conference attendees. The VLSS special issue will be published as a part of the proceedings. The JVLC special issue will be published as part of the July 2017 isse of JVLC. Workshops and Special Sessions This year, DMS2016 will be held in conjunction with workshops and special sections. Papers submitted to workshops or special sessions are invited by the program committee chairs of the workshops/special sessions. This joint organization aims to collect research results from different perspectives. The following workshops are being planned: o International Workshop on Visual Languages and Computing (VLC16) o International Workshop on Distance Education Technology (DET16) Information for authors Papers must be written in English. An electronic version (PDF format) of the full paper should be submitted using the following URL: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=dms2016. When submitting, select the main conference DMS16 or one of the two workshops DET15 or VLC15. Manuscript must include a 200-word abstract and no more than 8 pages of double column text (including figures and references). All submissions must not be published or under consideration for publication in a journal or in a conference with proceedings. Papers will be evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness and clarify of exposition. Depending upon the results of evaluation a paper may be accepted as regular paper (10 pages), short paper (7 pages) or technical notes (1 page and demo/poster presentation).
